Narrative Axis is a consulting practice that works at the intersection of language, culture, and storytelling. It offers premium English–Arabic translation, academic editing and research support, narrative consulting, and cross-cultural communication advisory for scholars, writers, publishers, and cultural institutions operating across Arab and Western contexts.
Purpose
I built Narrative Axis to bring scholarly rigor and narrative sensibility to work that is too often treated as routine language transfer. The aim is to help clients communicate with clarity, integrity, and contextual intelligence in moments where nuance matters most—where meaning, structure, tone, and cultural framing all have to hold together at once.
Audience
Narrative Axis serves scholars, writers, publishers, cultural and academic institutions, and organizations whose work moves between Arab and Western contexts and depends on careful, culturally informed communication.

Process
Narrative Axis was built around a deliberate decision to treat translation, editing, and consulting as a single, narrative-aware practice rather than three unrelated services. The framing rests on three pillars: scholarly expertise in narrative theory and cross-cultural communication, advanced bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic, and deep familiarity with Arab, Arab American, and transnational cultural contexts.
The name itself signals the orientation of the work: every project has an axis—a structuring line of meaning—and the role of the practice is to keep that axis intact as a text moves between languages, audiences, and contexts. The visual and editorial identity were developed to feel intellectually serious and quietly authoritative, in contrast to the more transactional tone common in the translation market.
Outcome
Narrative Axis is established as a defined practice with a clear identity, service architecture, and pricing model spanning premium translation, academic editing, narrative consulting, and cross-cultural advisory. Underlying work includes the Arabic translation of The Cambridge Companion to World Literature, conference presentations across the United States and the GCC, and years of graduate and undergraduate teaching that inform the firm’s editorial and consulting standards.
Building Narrative Axis has clarified for me that translation and editing are never neutral acts: they are interpretive decisions about what a text is doing and who it is for. The practice is an attempt to honor that reality—to treat language work as narrative work, and to give scholarly, literary, and institutional clients a partner who takes both the words and the world around them seriously.
